I don't think she was a hooker. At least, I hope not. If she was, I understand why she was serving me Moose Drool and a ribeye sandwich.

so they didn't tell you about wallace? one of the last places in the united states where prostitution was tolerated, hell, even promoted, even though it had long, long been illegal.

That explains the name of the 1313 Club (where we ate). When it opened in 18XX, there were 12 saloons and brothels in town. This one became known as 1313. At least that's what the back of the menu said. Hmm. Interesting.

they used to brag about it and really play it up. maybe they learned it drove more people (women) away than it brought in.

another cool stop along the way, just down the street from wallace, is kellogg. they have concerts at the top of the mountain during the summer and concertgoers actually take the ski lift to the top of the mountain.

i hope you blew right through spokane.

If you are still looking for a seafood joint here are my two favorite:
    1. A normal place: Ivar's on either Lake Union or downtown on the Sound
    2. Salty's Seafood in West Seattle. It has the best view of downtown Seattle I have ever seen, but the menu is pricey.

I'm actually staying in Olympia, but we'll hit Seattle a couple more times, I'm sure. Thanks.

I guess I should have known that seeing as how you are working at Fort Lewis. Well, listen to others then because my ability to recommend things stops south of where 405 and I-5 meet.

Ramblin' Jacks and Anthony's are other solid choices in Olympia.
