Mount Saint Mary's University's turn to have some fun. President sends out email to professors about student retention, asking them about students struggling academically. Tells them not to think of them as bunnies, but to "put a Glock to their head."

Two professors send the emails to the student paper, which publishes them. Professors are fired. Provost keeps job on faculty, but loses his post. Protests ensue.

The controversy at Mount St. Mary’s goes national after professors are fired

Incorrect. They're supposed to continue to think of them as bunnies. They're supposed to "drown the bunnies" and then get the Glock.

Who would have ever thought an entrepreneur and private-equity investor would be a bad cultural fit to lead a university, huh?

I guess tenure ends when you question the school president's avid support of the second amendment.

MSM is a Catholic university. Something screwy was bound to happen.

Not to be cynical, but I wonder what kind of sweet deal he got to exit stage left. Surely there are some finances involved.

Do the fired professors get their jobs back?
