The Las Vegas Review-Journal is seeking a copy editor with strong sports experience — especially in regard to the NFL and NHL — for its universal desk. Experience editing news, business and features copy is a plus, but the premium for this position is on sports expertise. The ideal candidate can write catchy headlines, catch mistakes others miss, quickly compile roundups and turn around a late-breaking, section-front story in a matter of minutes. The candidate should also have the ability to take on special projects — such as special sections and books — work with others to plan sections and coordinate copy flow for print, digital and other platforms. Applicants should have a minimum of five years of experience as a copy editor at a mid-size to metro daily newspaper. Familiarity with The Associated Press Stylebook is a must.
