I've heard golf coverage (The Masters, The Heritage, local tourneys) is also part of this beat, but that might have changed.

There's a pro beat job coming open in New York? Which one? What's the pay? Where do I apply? Who's leaving?

    Just kidding

I doubt it. I think the only writer who goes to Augusta is the SE, who doubles as the columnist.

I don't think they've been at the Heritage in recent years, either.

Why would a reader care what a season ticket holder thinks?

Disappointing team makes a QB change and a season-ticket holder approves. Stop the presses.

The ever-shrinking interest I had in this opening is now non-existent.

    Thanks for the link.

    Depends. Is he a minority?

  11. Good find. Shows that things haven't changed THAT much since I was in the Carolinas. I hope to god Mr. Caldwell is a minority. Otherwise Scott can forget about putting that one in his Gannett portfolio.

They don't. But Gannett thinks this stuff gives stories a local flavor, thereby justifying this stupidity.

Real People, Real News, Real Crap.
