People are still a little too eager to believe everything they read on Twitter. Kind of like people who believe @RoguePOTUSStaff is real account.

 

Life goal: Figure out how to get bumped from a Delta flight each month.

Delta can now offer up to $9,950 to passengers willing to give up seats

 

Yay! The cost of flying will go up even more now!

 

We're flying on Delta next month and our flight was almost full. Wonder how much it would be to buy the last few seats and profit?

 

25 years ago or so, when it easier to fly and change reservations without penalty, my buddy would play the "bump game," buying tickets for flights he was pretty sure he would get bumped from to collect the prizes.

He even had a friend who worked at an airline who would alert him to full flights. He collected a lot of free miles and vouchers that way.

 

Or getting the zonk sound effect....

 

Instead of bidding $1 over and getting the stink eye from a competitor, you get it for bidding $1 less.

 

Huh?

 

Uh. When you don't show up 15 minutes before the flight, those seats are released and can be filled by the airline without asking for volunteers.
