The closing attorney on the second home we ever owned was Richard "Dick" Dick. "Mr. Dick will be with you in a moment." (I kept having 'Bachelor Party' flashbacks)

Perahaps even worse, but we had a girl make one of our All-Area teams recently whose last name was Rape. Not sure how that's pronounced.

The Aiken (SC) County sheriff is also Mike Hunt.

I still think this is the worst name ever, though the ones here are giving it a run for the money: http://www.albany.edu/faculty/sywang/index.html

Worst name ever? I know people who would pay for that name.

My two favorite names from the state track meet:

Abcde Paogofie (female) and Amor Love (male)

Back to the original subject of the thread ... we can only hope he's descended from Chinese royalty and changed his name to Li from Tse Tung

I ran across a soccer player in the 1990s named Pearl Dick.

    Yes, it was a girl.

    And here she is today...

One of my journalism professors in college was Dr. Jere Hoar, and the last name is pronounced "whore."

In the early 1970s, there was an all-state girls basketball player in Iowa named ...

    Fonda Dix.

I didn't believe a co-worker who had told me about her until I saw it with my own eyes in the peach-colored Sunday edition of the Des Moines Register.
