Only a successful Asian American could pull off a hoax like that. But the question is why?

I'm thinking it is like why some people climb a mountain - because it is there. But in cases like this, it is low hanging fruit, much easier than climbing a mountain, and brings a person who knows what kind of notoriety even at the low level adrenaline rush akin to a joy ride.

What gets me is how some stunts can turn into fame and fortune. I keep thinking of that Balloon Boy. I don't think they got rich off that, but they sure tried.
