There are just certain surnames that should never warrant naming a child Richard--the above being one example, Head being another.

My rant on this remains the same--any parent who names their baby Richard Handler or Richard Head is clearly not capable of being a suitable parent. Once they fill in the birth certificate with that name combo, the doctor/nurse ought to look at them and just go, "uh, sorry......"

College hockey team I followed as a kid had a Bryce Cockburn on the top line.

I interviewed a Cockburn several years ago, an older guy who gently corrected me when I apparently put too much stress on the cock.

"It's COG-burn," says he. Yeah, and it's Fronkensteen, too, I suppose.

A story about people working multiple part-time jobs I have going on one of our weekend pages has a quote from a woman named Joy Wang, who said she feels like her work never ends.

    I giggled.

I'll trot these out again. Yes, they're all real
Rev. Larry Knigga (the 'K' is hard, the 'ni'..., well, you know)
Tara Dickensheets (played basketball for a college team in the Ohio Athletic Conference)
    Sharon Peters
    Harry Peters
Harry Peters Jr. (I wonder if he went by little Peters)
    Rosie Arreola
Magnus Bitsch (all-district football player; foreign exchange student from Denmark or the Netherlands, I believe)

To my earlier point, Jr? You've gotta be frickin' kidding me. Hey, it's bad enough your parents fouled up naming you, you have to do the exact same thing to your offspring? DCFS, line 1 please.
