All covers of Big Yellow Taxi suck. But so does the original, so you can't really blame them.

There was a pretty shit cover of In Your Eyes a few years ago, but I forget who did it.

It's not a horrible song on its own merits, but Ryan Adams' cover of Wonderwall still pisses me off. Sounds pretentious, detached to the point of ironic and nowhere near as good as the original. Apparently Wonderwall gets a lot of cover treatment.

God help me, but I like Keane's cover of With or Without You.

The "In Your Eyes" cover was done by a nobody - Jeffery Gaines. And yes, it sucked.

 

I believe the country version of Piece of My Heart was done by Faith Hill. I also believe it sucked dead donkey dicks.

But how could we have gone this far without listing Britney Spears' Satisfaction?

Shania Twain did, and it is really, really bad. Maybe it was Shania and Celine Dion; I forget. But it was demonstrably, provably, real bad.

You'd think having Shania Twain do jumping jacks while the house band covers AC/DC would be pretty good, but it wasn't.

 

Pulled it off Limewire some time ago.

 

I don't care if Mutt Lange is married to Shania, he should never allow that.
