Undoubtedly the worst remake of any song I have ever heard........

That was either the "Singles" soundtrack or some other compilation. Ear-bleedingly bad.

"Twist and Shout" by Salt 'N Pepa is absolutely brutal

And I hated Sheryl Crow's "Sweet Child O' Mine" at first, too, but it's grown on me a bit...

Nah, the Wilson sisters did a cover of "Battle of Evermore" on the Singles soundtrack that was actually pretty good.
I would love to hear the crazy tabloid hell, baby neglecting Britney Spears cover "Rid of Me" by PJ Harvey...and hear Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton cover "This Year's Girl" by Elvis Costello -- I actually think that could be pretty good.

Yeah, I gotta agree on that. Didn't suck.

Aaron Neville's syrupy early 90s AOR cover of Everybody Plays The Fool by Main Ingredient makes me want to strangle someone. As does UB40's Here I Am (Come And Take Me) by Al Green.

I like Humble Pie generally, but their live version of Honky Tonk Women is beyond horrible.

I thought the answer to this post came earlier in the thread: Carlos Silva?

My ex-wife, who hates Aaron Neville's voice, despised that cover. It came out around the third or fourth year of our marriage, and we were living in an apartment while I was taking some college courses. When I wanted to get her riled up, I'd start singing my own version:

    "Everybody plays the fool ...
There's no exception to the rule ...
Today's the day they clean the pool ...
I found that out as I left for school ...
That look you gave me is kinda cruel ...
I've always ignored the golden rule ..."

(and whatever else I could make up on the spot)

Korn's rendition of "Word Up" was awful, as was Britney's "My Prerogative"
