Under/Over on times Lizzy Seeberg and Declan Sullivan will be mentioned

This is off topic and it may have been covered, but is there a difference between ND as an institution covering up this girl's rape and what PSU did? I realize with PSU it was a much larger scale, however, with the NCAA ruling on Penn State I feel as if a dangerous precedent has been set. Could the NCAA at some point, come after ND after this?

I feel like yes. But of course, they wont.

The number of "preventable" deaths in this country --- or on any college campus --- each year is staggering.

Sullivan's death could have been prevented in any number of ways, first and foremost by the guy coach saying, "Sorry, ain't no way I'm you're climbing that thing today."

I'm amazed at how little the Sullivan tragedy follows Kelly around. In my view, he really skated away with
really no true backlash.

I think a huge part of it is that the family hasn't pushed the issue at all. They've remained pretty loyal to the university.

The NCAA will come after Notre Dame about an hour after The Pope is indicted and convicted for fixing Bingo Games in the Greater Boston area.

If they did that, they would be opening a huge Pandora's Box. It is not the NCAAs job to police student-athlete behavior. Eligibility? Yes. Academics? Yes. Off-field behavior? That's left to the institution. If coach/AD want to suspend a player for something, fine. We see it every week, from DUIs to whatever.

Some places are stricter than others and it's left to the individual school to make those decisions.

Prince Shembo is now talking about Lizzy Seeberg. Fascinating, I think. Says he wanted to talk all along, but trusted Notre Dame's advice not to. And now he's talking about it because GMs have been asking him and he obviously knows it's out there.

“I’m innocent,” Shembo told ESPN.com. “I didn’t do anything. I’m, pretty much, I’m the one who ended it and pretty much told the girl that we should stop, that we shouldn’t be doing this and that’s what happened. So, I don’t know.”
In a typed statement Seeberg made for police, Seeberg wrote that the accused male student grabbed her face and kissed her, pulled down her tank top, touched and squeezed her bare breasts, and held her down in his lap, all while she was crying and scared for her safety. A copy of the Sept. 5, 2010 statement was obtained by the Tribune.
Shembo, according to the ESPN story, said when he heard that Seeberg had committed suicide, he had no idea what was going on.
“I was like, ‘What’s going on?’” he said. “I was a freshman. I don’t think games even started, and she was older than me.
“I was like, ‘What?’ I was confused. They were asking me questions, and I didn’t know what they were talking about because I didn’t do anything.”
