That team is friggin' unreal. I wonder if the Plainville kids were crying in the first quarter?

"I don't want to go in!"

And what about the team they play next? Can you imagine their game tonight?

"Here, you guys win so you can play Smith Center."

"No, no, you guys can win."

"We ALWAYS beat you. You take a playoff win."

 

When I covered 9-man, a lot of teams always went for two for lack of a kicker.

 

But they got a FG in the third quarter.

My wife's cousin played at Smith Center when the current streak first started. There is no sign that they are running out of talent any time soon. The JV hasn't allowed a point, and the eight graders have allowed one touchdown.

 

Probably a safety and two field goals - given the fact the defense was playing so well and they didn't seem inclined to Bellicheck the second half.

 

I heard they kicked the third-quarter field goal on third down.

 

I'm much more impressed with a team that can shut out its opponents all season, than a team that can routinely put up 45+ points every game.

That is pretty damn impressive.

 

We had a 6-2 game the other night.

Sorry, but where's the competition?

What's the point of having them blow out opponents game in, game out?

Kids in pick up games intituitively know --whether it's hockey, football or baseball--that if scores are totally out of whack, you reshuffle the teams.

 

It's in western Kansas. They would probably have to drive several hours each way to find someone who could give them a game, and seven of their eight regular-season games were against conference opponents, so it's not like they're actively scheduling creampuffs.

 

Unbelievable? No.....Boring....YES!!!
