Mizzou over the next week is going to proceed to tell us every celebrity who likes Stern.

I haven't listen to Van Pelt's radio show for very long, but I've really grown to appreciate him. He seems funny, grounded and self-aware and I think that really showed in this instance.

And the people saying "I can't believe Stern's listeners are still this immature" have absolutely not understanding of Howard Stern of his listeners.

    Pilot,

    Let me clarify.

I can't believe adult men listen to Howard Stern.

    Better? :D

    Much Better!

To be honest, I've never listened to Stern. I was kind of disgusted by that short TV show they'd make out of his radio show every day. Now that I have XM/Sirus I've just never taken the time to look him up.

But I know what to expect.

FWIW, Colbert's drive to have stuff named after him is much funnier than Stern's to have people call in places for him.

A buddy of mine posted on Facebook that he found an old Jerky Boys CD in his basement. He said he put it on and was "laughing hysterically", I almost defriended him.

The Long Island railroad shooting one was hilarious too. "And Baba Booey to you all...". Al Michaels interjecting on the OJ chase one is still a riot. "Uh, Peter...."

Remember watching the coverage of Princess Diana's car crash on CNN with the wife. They got on somebody who claimed to have been a witness. This guy comes on, explains he is in Paris with his wife on their honeymoon and saw the whole thing. He wanted their families to know back home they were safe blah, blah, blah. I told the wife there was no way this was on the level but she believed it and the anchor kept asking for details and the guy kept giving them. Finally the guy goes all Baba Booey on the anchor, gets cut off and I laugh hysterically for an hour.

I'm guessing you don't listen to him then. While there is the cliche of interviewing porn stars and strippers, which I'll be the first to admit, is the most boring part of the show, the dynamic among staffers is always fascinating and he is one of the best celebrity interviewers out there.

    Mizzou,

I've listened to him before. I would flip past and watch parts of the TV show mentioned above. I didn't enjoy the repartee because it was almost always sub-juvenile. And even the interviews of celebrities had to do with the size of the junk of famous guys they'd dated, or whatever else.

    Pass.

People who have only seen the TV show understandably have a distorted view of the way the show is.

I've been a Stern fan for more than 20 years and I never liked the E! show because it made the show look like it was only about fart jokes and interviewing strippers.

Yeah, Stern's show touches a lot more body parts than that.

The big winner is Van Peezy, because he handled it well. He went on to talk about yesterday on his radio show and poked fun at himself for it.

I agree with Mizzou on this. I've listened to at least part of Howard's show almost every day since the early 80s (yikes!). What they showed on the E! show was the lowest common denominator stuff.

I do have to disagree with your earlier recommendation for people to search out the Sal & Richard live shot thing. I didn't find that particularly funny, but then again, I hate Sal.
