Slightly off-topic, I once read a stat that said one of every eight pounds spent in the UK is spent in a Tesco.

 

Why didn't he use the Jedi mind trick first?

 

Incredibly silly story, but I'm not sure why the store made an issue of it. Who cares if some Star Wars dork wants to wear a Jedi hood when buying his groceries, as long as he's paying with real money instead of intergalactic currency, I fail to see how it bothers anyone.

 

The store probably doesn't like hooded young chaps. Hoods allow faces to be hidden from cameras and such.

 

Hoods and head coverings are a big deal here. Some of it is discrimination against the young and the poor, but some of it is also because hoods and head coverings make it much easier to disguise one's identity from the many, many CCTV cameras.

And then there's the angle of distrust/dislike of Muslims, with the hijab being a very easy target, as you'll see in the comments in that story.

 

It's probably close to that with Wal-Mart here.

 

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

 

This guy thinks the store is taking appropriate precautions.

 

Plural, Jedi already is.
