    Only Derek Jeter is worthy of breaking Dimaggio's streak. After that happens, we can just name the country after him. :D

    Wake me if he gets to 40.

    I would give an edge to any player (Tulo, Gonzo) who plays in Colorado due to the larger outfield.

    why do we even humor manky at this point? at this stage of his careerk jeter is 1,000 times more likely to set his personal longest oh-fer -- whatever that might be; no doubt manky knows and still blames the batting coach for it -- than have a hitting streak that puts him anywhere CLOSE to the 56. heck, even in his prime he didn't get a serious sniff.

    Sounds good in theory, although the Rockies' record hitting streak is only 23 games. It's also been eight years since any Rockie had one even as long as 17 games.
