UGA announcer Jeff Dantzler off the air after DUI arrest

Hardly shocking, really. Doesn't sound as though he'll be back.

I hate to see this. Jeff's a good guy. It's been a weird year for some SEC announcers.

 

Don't know him personally, but I always enjoyed his work on-air. Somehow, until reading the comments section below the story, it never dawned on me that he was also the p.a. guy in the pressbox at UGA football games.

 

The football PA is Brook Whittemire.

 

So who's next that gets to strap on the hobnail boot?

Dantzler and Scott Howard did a hell of a job calling UGA men's hoops this year, given how rancid a majority of the games were. Not on par with Skip Caray doing Braves games in the 80s, but halfway there at least.

Here's guessing he doesn't rebound with the Blue Jackets.
