UFC president's homophobic, sexist rant at reporter

Admit it, you'd pay to hear a baseball GM go off like that on YouTube.

 

All he wants is attention. I, like many people reading this thread, didn't know the guy from Adam before this. It's a stunt. Hadn't heard of the website in question before this contrived controversy. There doesn't seem to be anything that damning in the story, to where even if it were true, who the hell cares about which managers get access at UFC fights?

Pretty sure David Stern did something exactly like this from his couch when Peter Vecsey had something he didn't like a few years back. Maybe it was Bettman.

 

Oh, I've heard rants close to it -- way, way off the record. That's a distinction this guy needs to leran.

 

Perhaps this isn't the right thread for this discussion, but it somewhat surprises me that sportswriters that are proudly expressing their ignorance for what UFC stands for, or, to a lesser extent, who Dana White is.



It's not for everyone, but burying one's head in the sand about it isn't a wise move.

This doesn't change the fact that Dana White is an asshole, of course.

 

I blame the No. 8 sport in that chart.

 

A lot of them are proud of their ignorance of that sport too.

Well, we do only have this guy's word that reporter was 'inaccurate'... take that for what's in worth.... it kind of hurts my heart that there are people this hateful, vile and obscene.

 

I bet if you compared porn to those other sports, it'd do well, too. Two people beating the life out of each other isn't a sport. Entertainment? Not to me, but I guess it is to some.

 

Why isn't poker on that chart? Isn't poker a sport, too?

 

I can't work up much outrage for this because, I'm sorry, that whole rant just didn't feel real - it felt like a WWE Roddy Rowdy Piper rant -- with swear words and slurs.

In other words, I agree with those who say this was a publicity stunt and it wouldn't shock me if dude was reading a script -- assuming he can read, which is not a given -- off a teleprompter or big dry erase board........

 

I'm with you. Even if White wasn't reading off a script, I just can't get that riled up about this. Sure, he dropped a few F-bombs (and the slur was obviously stupid and uncalled for), but I've heard far, far, far worse rants than that.
