This one did make me laugh -- http://soccerprintblog.co.uk/2012/07/02/john-terry-pictured-lifting-the-euro-2012-trophy-for-spain/

My version of ESPN Classic is showing Holland-France from 2008. Just an uproariously fun game to watch, as was Holland-Italy. Holland-Italy was 3-0, but it could have been 0-3 and it could have been 3-3.

For two games, Holland were one of the best teams I've ever seen. Then, as usual, it fell apart.

He was -- and deservedly so. The man had an amazing tournament.

I watched four of Spain's games. I do not remember him making a bad pass, touch or move. I don't remember him making a mistake, period.

My boy, Cesc, had a great tournament as well. All he does is put himself in the right place at the right time. Continuously. He scores against Italy. He comes off the bench against Ireland and scores a sick goal. He scores the game-winner in the shootout against Portugal. And then, he feeds Silva with a ridiculous pass that gives Spain its first goal in the finals.

A good David Hirshey take on the proceedings that is dead-on nails.

That pass by Cesc to Silva was dirty. Talk about threading a needle and putting the ball where it had to go.
That tournament also showed Spain's versatilty to move to an entirely new formation and still dominate. Villa is their best striker and it was as if he wasn't missed. That squad is so deep. It will be quite a sight in Brazil to see if they can win a second Cup.
