    Can't they just send it out over the alert wire feed as a test, like they do with pre-election stuff? That way it wouldn't have gone up on many of these websites.

    AP makes a lot of mistakes. I'm not sure why this is considered a big deal.

    Rick Neuheisel punched a hole in the wall upon seeing the initial news and doesn't know why. Now he'd like to unpunch said wall.

    Unfortunately, this assumes someone is paying attention to what's on the web. I'm gonna take an educated guess and say it went onto wire and fed on to all sites that stream AP automatically.

    I see stuff, especially on the weekend, that goes on web sites all the time, directly from AP. Then those sites put it on Twitter. And even though it says not for publication, well, oh well.
