I'm concerned.... I haven't heard a hook yet on a single tune I have heard. Though Breathe may have possibilities.

Get On Your Boots vs. Vertigo and A Beautiful Day off the past two albums.... not in the same zip code.

I'm digging "Stand up Comedy" right now, but you're right. I don't think there's really a knock-it-out-of-the-park single on there.

Not the same thing. Two friends - or even a group of friends - passing a CD between themselves doesn't have the same reach as a torrent that can be accessed by an unlimited number of people around the world. One loses the artist a few sales. The other can cut deeply into their bottom line.

And, let's be honest here: Artists and companies cannot really stop people from making copies for their friends. They can seek to shut down torrents and Web sites. Which, of course, made that an easier fight for the record industry.

On a different note, interesting offer from No Doubt regarding digital downloads:

So if you like shitty music and are tired of your Coldplay stuff, this works for you.

If you liked No Doubt enough to pop for premium seats, wouldn't you already have all their abums? Seems like they're giving something to the demographic that has the least need for it.

Interesting from IGN - ranking U2's albums from worst to best.

No major quibbles from me. Their #2 would be my #1, and I'd probably put "October" a little higher and "The Unforgettable Fire" a little lower.

Interesting stuff. I would have Boy, one of my all-time fave albums, in the No. 2 spot.

Me too. And it'll cost $250 for good seats.

I've seen 'em a bunch of times, but unless somebody throws me some free tickets, I think I'll skip this tour.

Too many good/under appreciated acts playing small venues.
