U.S. wins doubles + locks up first championship since 1995

once upon a time, this was a big deal

    but now?

    where do you play it?

carve out a spot out front below the fold on such a busy saturday?

    briefs? 10 inches inside?

    A1?

Don't they play this thing twice a year? Or at least once? Is it really that big of a deal.

Where do you play the story when they begin their defense with a first round win on Monday?

I'm throwing deep inside, but I will run a foto and a list of the winners since 1995, mostly because it's on an early wire page and does seem intreresting. U-S-A and all that.

I feel like hell and called in tonight, but I likely would put it inside. Not briefs, though. It would have its own headline.

You know that entire post was gold. Y'all could have picked different parts. Loosers!

And it's a stand alone photo for us on the wire page. We're super tight.

I did. I skipped ahead a bit in mine.

    Deserves a 10-inch separate.

Deserves some kind of reefer treatment on the front page.

    Those are the minimums.

Briefs. We're not exactly the biggest tennis-loving group of people around here and it was a busy day.

I love tennis, but I can't imagine there are many papers that will do that.

Back page, color-photo with about a 10-inch story.
