U.S. to recognize Libyan rebels as official government

    Frees up some frozen assets for the rebels, but doesn't look like it will lead to peace any time soon:

    I really don't see any good coming with either group. They're not going to wave American flags in a victory march, not even close.

    Wasn't it similar comments by Gaddafi that caused us to get involved in Libya in the first place?

    As bad as Gaddafi was, they should not slaughter or execute his loyalists.
