Bethanie Mattek lost. :'( Her outfit was hot, tho.

I've become a Mattek fan. I think she might still be around in the doubles.

Ivanovic won the second set, but the French girl, Coin, is gonna take the third. She's up 5-2. Damn.

And Coin does it. Knocks off the No. 1 player in her first Tour level event. Holy shit.

I'll now switch over to the convention :D

What a story. And what a disastrous summer for Ivanovic.

Lost to the 133rd-ranked player at Wimbledon.

Lost to the 188th-ranked player playing her first Tour-level event here.

A terrible summer. I wonder if there's more going on with her thumb than she's letting on.

She really did not look comfortable out there today.

Strange career. Can't really call her and up-and-comer.

She'll be 26 in December. Has won ITF singles and doubles titles but failed every time she tried to qualify for Tour-level events.

Tuned into the match after I saw sportschick's post. Was thinking that Henin's retirement will lead to the worst stretch of number 1 women's players of my lifetime.

There just doesn't seem to be a woman capable of dominating right now. Sharapova might be, but she seems to have some sort of injury issue every year.

The Williams sisters aren't interested in being No. 1 anymore or at least they don't seem to be.

Jankovic and Ivanovic are both very good players, but they aren't dominating in the way we're used to seeing.

When the tournament started, any one of six women could be No. 1 when it was over.

I've never seen a stat like that before.

    That's really nuts.

The American youngster Sam Querrey is playing Nadal really well right now.
