Yemen is 15 minutes from Tahoe. Do recent grads have a shot? How do they want clips? Does anyone know how to make a PDF?

They shouldn't bother. Yemen already has their candidate, and anybody applying would waste 20 minutes of their life.

Not true, KSM (9/11 planner) was awaiting trial in Gitmo being waterboarded and giving up the goods on OBL's couriers. He should be facing a firing squad under military rules

I'm not thrilled with it, but I don't think it's as simple as accusing Obama of executing a U.S. citizen without a trial.

You guys are so funny; there is no arguing, despite hondo's weak attempt (Khalid Mohammad is still breathing, as you note) that Obama's done far more in 3 years -- at far less expense -- than Bush did in 7+ years of his post-"My Pet Goat" reading efforts.

Killing bin Laden alone is a 9th inning, World Series-winning grand slam compared to Bush's Southern League All-Star game singles and doubles.

Obama in his first term has demonstrated exactly how a modern counterterrorist program ("war on terror") can be effectively and efficiently conducted using a combination of intelligence, special forces and drones. President Bush reacted to 9-11 by taking the advice of those great war historians Al Haig and Donald Rumsfeld, who sold him on an updated version of the Germans' blitzkrieg of Poland in '39. Mission accomplished, indeed.

    Republicans Cheer Death Penalty–
Republicans cheered the death penalty tonight at the GOP debate at the Reagan Library. They cheered again when Governor Rick Perry defended his state’s laws.

Brian Williams: Governor Perry a question about Texas. Your state has executed 234 death row inmates more than any other governor in modern times. Have you struggled to sleep at night?
Governor Rick Perry: No sir. I’ve never struggled with that at all… If you kill one of our children or police officers or another citizen in a crime you will face the ultimate justice in Texas.

Then the crowd cheered again… Even louder.

    So much for Due Process:

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Whoever would have thought that Obama would (according to opinion polls) get his best marks on national defense and security?

Of course, as George H. W. Bush learned 20 years ago, national defense and security are not as high a priority to voters when the economy sucks at home and the sitting President looks helpless and impotent to fix it.

That's why it was so clever of George W. Bush to make the surplus disappear and drive the economy into a ditch with a combination of ill-advised tax cuts, wars and government expansion before he left office.
