As long as you're footing the bill for the PPV, I'm there.

Yes, I know it will make both guys (plus the promoter) money they probably need (and money Tyson definitely needs) and that reason for doing this fight trumps all reasons for not doing it, but the question of who the better fighter was has been settled. Holyfield beat him twice, what else does anyone need to know? Who but the most die-hard Tyson fan could possibly think the issue is still open to debate?

I won't shell out for it, but I'll admit it intrigues me enough to want to see it.

Can't believe Holyfield needs the payday that much to want to fight Tyson.

And a quarter century from now: Holyfield/Tyson VIII. They won't need mouthpieces by then, because they won't have any teeth left.

I heard that they found Tyson in a Las Vegas hotel room.

    Or was that Peabo Bryson?

Mike Tyson, diminished skills and all, remains the only boxer I would pay to watch.

edit: Slick Willie, who is that in your avatar?

This reminds me of Jim Murray's column on Tyson-Holyfield II. Some of his lines:

"Well, Mike Tyson didn't need a new referee. He needed a rabies shot. ... He tried to bite Evander Holyfield's ear off Saturday night. Twice. Referee Mills Lane disqualified him before he tried to bite his nose off. ... He is one disturbed young man. He should not be allowed to fight again. Unless it is against a hungry grizzly. ... It was such a shocking piece of cannibalism, they decided to halt the proceedings before Tyson tried to put him in a pot."

    Greatest sports columnist ever.

Was at the first two fights. The night of the second was wild to say the least. As we're walking from the arena back to the casino there are all sorts of people bitching about what happened. Finally, this security guard who had to be about 6-8, 300 pounds (and was black) yells "All right, keeping moving, go home and talk about it over some watermelon and barbeque." I thought I was going to die! On another note, I was walking out alongisde Dick Van Patten and his grandson. By the time we got back to Ballys about 15 minutes later, it was all over the TV that somebody had shot up the casino and there were cops everywhere.

Dignan: To answer your question, the hottie avatar is Thea Andrews. She was one of the original hosts of Cold Pizza and was in Playmakers as well. I think she's doing Entertainment Tonight every now and then.

I may have to change that in lieu of my newfound crush on Sarah Barellies.
