I thought Weis said everything was gonna come down to X's and O's.

Jones COULD have been good against GT -- if the line blocked (not sure he could have passed worth a damn, but the option, like communism, could have worked in thoery). Guess there's still something to be said for the future-is-now apporach with Clausen, though.

Illinois wouldn't be the worst bet in the world, but that's just a guess.

Weis should find a spot for him somewhere in the backfield. If he's good enough to start at qb, why don't they try him at tailback or slot?

    Not I-AA though.

Valid point - I was just thinking about Zook wanting to grab any talent he can and for PR purposes try to stick it to Weis with a Chicago kid. He was really pissed after that NYT article last year basically accusing him of buying guys.

I think there is a University in upstate New York that is hurting for talent. Oh wait, their line can't block either.

  9. At this point, Notre Dame should put Jones back in and run the spread offense so it has a chance be competitive ...

But he's got Juice Williams. He can't change quarterbacks. That kid is too much fun to watch. Plus, he's got a great name.

Juice Williams has some potential. Why sit him for Jones?
