Two U.S. Navy vessels collide

    It is. Most definitely. The good thing about being a ship captain is that the buck stops there. The bad thing about being a ship captain is that the buck stops there. Run a ship aground or into another ship and your career is toast. Think this collision is bad? Try this.

    The USS Belknap after she collided with the USS John F. Kennedy in 1975. The JFK was always known as the "Can Opener" after this incident. She also collided with the USS Bordelon in 1976.

    This has been happening forever with the Navy. Shiphandling isn't always their strong suit.
