Two positions, Miami Herald

    MileHigh: Did you work at the Herald in the Paul Anger era?
    I fear editing has slipped in recent years. Of course, that is the case in most places (including L.A.).

    I worked for Paul and have nothing but good things to say about him and the others there at that time, but it's kind of hard to compare eras. We didn't have MLB and NHL teams, in fact we almost ignored the NHL as a league. On the other hand, we had more editions. We had extremely talented people working at high speeds without much margin for error and shit happened. Likely that's the case today as well.

    I missed the Paul Anger Era in sports. But he was running the Broward edition when I went there, and I was there when he left, eventually for Des Moines. The man was revered at One Herald Plaza.
