Two more Florida papers merge operations

    This time, it's the Freedom papers in Fort Walton Beach (Northwest Florida Daily News) and Panama City (News Herald), with the FWB pressroom and a chunk of the FWB newsroom (copy desk, etc.) moving to Panama City.

    Like the situation in Gainesville and Ocala, the circulation areas are right next to each other.

    No numbers announced. I'm not as familiar with the situation as I once was, but I've heard that there's already been a few waves of layoffs.

    Surprised those two papers havent done something like that a long time ago. and my God look out for those invovled.

    It appears sports in Gainesville will not have to let anyone go.
