"This was almost certainly a dry run, a test," said one senior law enforcement official.

This story is a bit lacking. When they say what they found in his luggage, does that mean checked luggage?

Why would you want to put three large knives in your checked luggage even if it were just a dry run for an attack?

Now, if it's carry on, that's different.

Wasn't Lockerbie a bomb in checked luggage?

If you don't want to die, you get a bomb on a plane as checked luggage, set the timer, & then don't get on the plane.

Since 9/11 though, your bags are not supposed to fly if you don't. Once he didn't get on the plane, they called it back & removed the bags.

Looking at their names - most likely yes but I am sure that is just a stereotype as Christians commit just as many terrorist acts as Muslims....... ::)

Sure, a bomb. What are you gonna do with knives? Set them to remotely ginsu the luggage compartment?

That's why they think it was a dry run. They had "simulated" bombs.

Can't wait to hear this chucklehead's explanation for taping a watch to a pepto-bismol bottle.

The only thing that would make me question any part of the story is Brian Ross's addition on the byline. Or, as Gawker calls him after many of his stories invariably aren't as terrifying as he first claims or are simply incorrect, ABC News's Wrongest Reporter.

Or maybe the guys are news reporters:

Well, it only works for 12 hours, so you need to know when to take the next dose.
