Labor dispute could force company to close down.

This last sentence in story tickled me:

"Hall said Hostess' labor costs are $400 per driver per week less than rival Bimbo Bakeries, which makes Arnold's bread as well as Entenmann's baked goods and Thomas' English Muffins."

So that's what he's been up to since retirement.

Typical. The union's ridiculous demands are bleeding the company dry. Think the unions care about those jobs? Hell no.

I guess they'd rather just go on the dole. Dumb bastards. And people wonder why so many companies are moving to right-to-work states.

But just the same Hostess is now owned by an LBO firm.

    Selective copy and paste much?

Refusing to participate in the race to the bottom doesn't make someone a dumb bastard. If you can't afford to stay in business unless you're allowed to treat your employees like shit, then you can't afford to stay in business.

Prevailing retail prices for this line are beyond absurd. If that's the best they can do while, this nutritional disaster won't be missed.

It's my fault. I've never had a Twinkie. I've made up for it by having had lots of other Hostess products and subsidizing my best friend's Hostess Fruit Pie habit all through high school.

    I'm sure I've had a Twinkie, but I don't think I've had won since the '80s.

Bought a box of the Cupcakes (orange cupcakes would be the true loss, here) and tried lemon-flavored filling Twinkies from some market at 2 for $4 the other day. Cupcakes were gone in a week, six of the lemon Twinkies are left. truly awful.
