  2. It's an epidemic in baseball. This backwards-speak affects almost every local guy and many of the national guys. Driven crazy by it am I.

    "He had three hits last night, did Jeter."

    I think they somehow think it sounds more formal and professional. For some reason no one corrects them.

    I did all three in college too, and I usually tried to announce like the listeners would want and leave no guess room.
