I just noticed this the other day. I was taken aback -- for about three seconds. Then I paid for my Rice Chex and went on my way.

We ditched the daily TV listings in our 39K paper a week ago.

    No great outcry.

    Next: Baseball box scores.

We forgot to run them one day. Calls poured in complaining that we were a chickenshit paper for not running the time of Monday night football. Do they really need us to tell them what time MNF starts?

Y'know, I would have guessed that Rice Chex buyers would constitute a large portion of their readership.

You'd think that. But it's not true. We actually go for Soap Opera Digest first.

Hey, BG, try using zap2it.com. It's worked wonders for me.

To be fair, Monday Night Football used to air on Tuesdays.

We were nice to our readers and gave them advance notice and told them why we were dropping the TV tab in favor of a daily grid. Since our small-town readership skews 70-years-plus-and-dammit-I-ain't-gonna-accept-any-change-of-any-kind, we were berated about it for months.
