    Fabulous factoid, terrier.
    RJG was the first jazz critic to give rock and roll serious critical cred in the 1960's. He wrote a lot for RS, covered the Monterey Pop Festival for them, and his reviews of The Band went a long way toward making Big Pink a hit.

    Watching that show, I was struck by how mean the kids are to ol' Charlie Brown.

    "Boy, you are stupid Charlie Brown", etc.

    Violet's a real bitch.

    Out of all the Charlie Browns, you're the Charlie Browniest.

    They were really evil in the very early days of Peanuts. Very cold, gleeful in Charlie Brown's slipups. The starkness made it funny, of course.
