Sounds like you're humming the Linus & Lucy theme to me. The one played when they're all dancing.

At the end, where they're gathered around Charlie Brown's sad little tree?

I'm gonna guess you mean the vocal version of "Christmas Time is Here."

Sounds better on my CD, but that is my guess based on your description.

At the end, they all stand around and hum "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" sans instruments. It's very slow at first, then there's a break, the instruments kick in and they sing the actual words.

Me, I'm partial to "Snowflakes," on my Christmas mix CD.
The use of jazz in the soundtrack was pretty groundbreaking, a particular surprise since Schulz enjoyed classical most. Schulz hooked up with Vince Guaraldi through Ralph Gleason, who was a jazz critic before he turned hippie.

He's definitely thinking of that song.

    "Lights, please."

    (Sniff).

Somebody gave me one of these ornaments for Christmas last year and it's been on my desk ever since.
