At least on my computer, I get the old, barren homepage when I hit sportsjournalists.com. Is this in reaction to South Florida dropping in the polls?

I'm just too busy these days to update the blog so I went back to the old way.

Dooley was so looking forward to wearing a snap-brim fedora and chewing on a big cigar and yelling COPY!

I do want a snap-brim fedora. I think I can bring the look back.

If this were a true turn-back-the-clock day at essjay.com, we would all be placing wagers on who would win the fight at Grand Central Station, and Wally Mathews would be committing hara-kari on his newspaper career.

Did we ever find out 1) who was supposed to be in the fight 2) whether it ever took place
