It's times like this that I really miss Rick Sanchez.

Honestly, CNN is doing a pretty good job -- much better than MSNBC or FOXNews.

The U.S. enables the corrupt Yemeni leadership in the hope that Al-Queda won't cause problems. The aid we give them doesn't go to help bolster its economy. What type of pressure have the Bush and Obama administrations puts on the Yemen government to reform itself? The answer is easy, not much pressure.

As Al Jazeera has pointed out, when Mubarak speaks -- and he's expected to at some point -- unless he says goodbye, what could he possibly say that would stop the protests?

What I'm sure our government is worried about is this is throwing out the Shah all over again.

I saw someone point out this morning - maybe it was Joe Scarbourough -- that countries with whom we have a hostile relationship with, like Iran, have a populace that is basically pro-America. While the countries that we have friendly relationships with -- where we've befriended totalitarian dictators -- the citizenry is more anti-American.

It makes sense. And, it's a shame.
