At the moment, it's a Holiday Inn Select that's under renovation.

Stayed at Sam's Town. Paid $25 a night, and I split a room with another sportswriter. The casino was fun, even though I wasn't 21 at the time and I had to sneak around and try not to smile to show off my baby face.
We got a speeding ticket in Tunica, for going 39 in a 35. Really. Honestly.

Unless you're in Tunica proper (south of the casinos) how can you find a 35 mph speed limit? All the roads out by the casinos are 55-65. And, with the open fields all around, you're probably going to have a hard time keeping it under 80...

That being said ... I did see a couple of 5-0 out by 61 the last time there, doing active speed patrol.

Always split 10s when the dealer's showing 7 or higher.

And, on the dice table, walk right in, right next to a hot shooter. Oh, throw some money in late, too, just so that they can touch the dice. (Anyone want to help me on the dice superstitions?)

If you're going to the cock fights, always bet on the white-legged rooster during a full moon.

Holy shit. Bulletin......Fenian forced to eat his own statistics.

Hey Fenian, I'm with you hoss. Your next response should be: "Blame Bush for the Biloxi suffering."

Wallpaper's peeling, paint's chipping in many of the playing areas at Horseshoe, at least it was back in mid-2006.
Lots of neon and flashing lights, good times to be had, though. You'll love it.
Yes, go to the Blues Museum and Morgie Freeman's honky-tony less than an hour away in Clarksdale.
Write your name on the wall.

And most of the Coast casino jobs are back now.

I didn't read his story, but I thought about it on the way home. There's no eff'n way Tunica was down 40 percent without Biloxi.

Where would all the blue-haired ladies (like my grandmother) go, Philadelphia?
