I'm at the Hyatt Grand Central right now.
Stayed here a lot for baseball, but it was a dump. These godawful wornout brown bedspreads that had this weird flipover for the pillows. Just old.

They've renovated. Must have spent a mint. Rooms are great now. Everything's new. Mattress thick. Pillows fluffy. Right above Grand Central station, so you can get anywhere on the subway. Couple of blocks from Times Square.

Don't know what it would cost. I've got the U.S. Open media rate, $179.

We found a Courtyard on 40th, very nice, a few blocks from Times Square so you could take it in - quickly - without actually staying there.
One of my favorite board members suggested Katz' Deli to The Queen and I for a trip and she still raves about the place. Take cash or traveler's checks. No credit cards there.

Corner Cafe, corner of Broadway and Bleeker, for a great lunch.

If you don't see a show, I'm kicking your ass.

I hope to get up there again very soon.

Moddy, what a way to bully me....do you even know where to find me? Catch me if you can ;) ;D

(should I be scared of Moddy kicking me if I don't go see a show ???)

Ben's Deli (no, didn't name my son after the place) on 8th Avenue, near the Garden.
Best corned beef you will ever have.

Regular rates are around $400-500/night during the fall season, you can get a room in the 300s most of the time.

You love your Hyatts, 21, for reasons that baffle me.

    Hyatts are hit and miss...
    Boston - GREAT
    Cincinnati - DUMP
    NYC - much better

No....I love one Hilton, and all Westins. No love for Hyatt, I just know the rates at that one.
