That's interesting. When the new Who CD came out a couple years ago, I remember reading that Daltrey was one of Pete's closest confidants and most ardent defenders during his kiddie porn thing.

Maybe they can cover "Money Changes Everything" on this tour.

The Who Sells Out has had a whole new meaning for a long time now.

I did, however, like Sean Penn's dig at VH-1 and MTV just prior to his intro for PJ's performance.

I TIVO'd this and just caught the first two performances before I had to come to work. Question: Who were the two dudes with Billy Bob Thornton in the intro part of the show?

  6. It would have been better if it had come from anyone other than Sean Penn.

zak starkey, son of ringo, is a heckuva drummer. not moon, but damn good.

  8. Props as part of his new movie, Swing Vote, probably.

Nothing like a band tribute to pimp your own interests.

I went to the show at Pauley Pavillion.

Really fun night, although, as an ardent Who fan, I'm sad that all they seem to be capable of doing these days is resting on their laurels. I wish they were significant again.

Watching through this today. Man, Eddie Vedder is just so awesome. How can he sing like that and be able to talk? Or sing the next night? Fkin' brilliant. They gave me goosebumps during Love Reign O' Me.

  11. Same here. Awesome performance.

I DVR'd it, and I can't wait to get to finish it. The Flaming Lips were terrific, as was Tenacious D. But what was Incubus doing there?!?!?!

Caught some of the Who's performance, and while good, Daltrey's voice is shot.

Haven't gotten to Pearl Jam yet, but I'm assuming they ruled like always.

And westcoastvol, I'm jealous. Although I have a feeling some of the kids there were like, Pearl Jam are cool and all, but who are the old guys playing at the end?
