    Mike Shanahan seems to have had more than his share of signings fail. Funny how the GM was ousted in Denver this offseason. The signings were Shanahan's call.

    Shanahan is a little too close to Pat Bowlen - bad for the Donkeys, but it gives Shanahan ridiculous job security considering the next-to-nothing he's accomplished since the retirement of John Elway.

    Completely agree, BYH. Coaches and executives all have ego, but Mike Shanahan's ego still easily outsizes that of his peers.

    Every time Shanahan and the Chopblocking Donkeys fail is a good day. It's probably made better by the fact that Pat Bowlen won't fire his overrated coach.

    Shanahan will always try to prove he's a genius. He loves the label of 'offensive genius'. It's part of the reason, I think, guys like Mike Bell and Selvin Young will always be their RB. He doesn't want to spend a 1st-round pick on a RB. Looks much smarter to sign an undrafted guy and plug him in at RB.
