Never, ever trash someone who bagged Kristina Wayborn, Maud Adams, Barbara Bach and Jane "Boom-Boom" Seymour... (We'll just forget about that whole Tanya Roberts thing...)

Gee, I wonder if his "Licence to Kill" might be revoked in this film.

(Oh yeah, I'll see it, as I see all Bonds. But the trailer basically made it look like a better "Licence to Kill." But hey, they've remade "Thunderball" multiple times, so why not?)

As for the best Bond (and let's face it, the Bond Women are part of the judgment):

Connery was the original, but his scripts were largely mediocre and many of his women are now quite dated. The sleeper among thm is Jill Masterson from Goldfinger, the girl who got painted gold.
Lazenby's movie helped me win some money once, so no complaints there. Diana Rigg is an all-timer.
Moore had the cheesiest scripts, but the plots were entertaining if a little on the campy side, and I'd put the laides in the films (other than A View To A Kill) up against any group. Moonraker's underrated Dr. Holly Goodhead was a cutie, and the only watchable thing about that film.
Dalton's portrayal was actually close to the more serious Bond of the books, if I'm not mistaken. I thought he was a fine Bond who was saddled with boring screenplays and nondescript Bond Women.
The Brosnan Bond had his moments. Kind of funny to remember that his commitment to the final (crappy) season of Remington Steele kept him from taking on Bond until 1995. If I'm not mistaken, that same show kept its female lead from taking the female lead in RoboCop.
Brosnan's movies were hit or miss, plotwise. Mostly miss. Pretty ladies, for the most part.

Really enjoyed the last Bond. Really like Craig. Am excited for this movie, especially since I thought "Licence to Kill" was such an interesting idea, poorly executed.

  3. Roger Moore is on record saying he played the OO7 character "tongue in cheek." Wasn't there a scene with moore and grace jones? Just asking.

    Yeah, but it's still meaningless.

It's like someone worked overtime on Roget's.

As far as Brosnan's movies go, Goldeneye rocked. The rest can be forgotten about.

Yes, in A View to A Kill.

Tomorrow Never Dies was the only Brosnan one that I didn't like. I think Connery was definitely the best.

They're doing like they did with "Living Daylights," where they steal a title from a Fleming work -- and nothing else -- so they can still have a tie to the original literary Bond. "Solace" was actually a short story in the same collection as "From A View to a Kill." I think they've pretty much run out of Fleming titles after this one.

Having said that, the trailer kicks ass. I'm a little scared that the plot gets too much like "Licence to Kill," but I'll still probably be there Nov. 7.

    From IMDB...

The source story "Quantum of Solace" from which the film obtains its title is not actually considered a spy espionage story though there is mention of a mission, the story is an anecdote told to James Bond at a dinner party. This is therefore the first EON Productions James Bond movie to utilize a non-spy story as a source for a Bond movie.

Must-see for me. Loved Casino Royale. Top five Bond movie of all-time as far as I'm concerned.

    From that IMDB page:

"Paul McCartney turned down the offer to write a new James Bond song for Quantum of Solace (2008), and recommended singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse for the job."

She has a Quantum of Solace with narcotics.
