Townnews.com question

Does anyone out there use townnews.com?

I just visited my paper's Web site (it updated this afternoon) and I saw a major typo on an obit. So being the pathetically dedicated person I am, I logged onto town news, made the correction.

It's still not showing up on the paper's site. Is there some sort of delay?

That's all I need to know, thanks!

I think our site has an hour delay, but I could be completely wrong.

    It's been over an hour.

I've done this edit from home thing once before, it was instantaneous.

    This is making me nuts!

from my past experience with town news, it should have been an instant change if you updated correctly. that said, town news sucks.

Yeah Townnews does suck, but as long as you went in and reloaded it with the corrections it should show up on the spot.

    *Heavy sigh*

Haven't looked at the Web site since last night, the error was still there.

Logged on, the obit file was in the archives (that's not where it was last night).

Changed the typo (again), saved it, it showed up on our Web site with the change right away.

    Go figure.

    I hate - and I mean HATE - townnews.com.

Our site just went live a little while ago. And the stories are in the reverse order of what I set the priority, save the lead story with a 1 priority.

Any suggestions or do I just say the heck with it and deal with it Monday?

Oh yeah, and the story we published right away last night has a 2 priority and it's not even on the front page of the site once the site went live.

Go to your home page and refresh your browser. If that doesn't work, quit your browser and reopen it.

We used to use townnews.com until a couple of months ago and that's what you had to do. If there were any delay, it was only a minute or two.

EDIT: Saw you fixed the problem, my bad.

Thanks FB, but I already tried that. It didn't work.

Even pulled it up on a different computer.

    I hate townnews.com.

When you're in the "publish" window, hit the "purge cache" button on the left before you hit the "publish" button below the dates. Townnews has a bunch of servers and they all have to clear before you can see your updated stuff. Sometimes they clear slowly.

I'll try that and see if it works.
