Oh, please, that's a real even comparison.

I guess my question is - if Ford makes good on his promise to shut down all press events where the Star is present, how does the rest of the media respond?

Did you see the cartoon the Star ran, alluding to his fizzling weight-loss self-challenge?

He can't possibly follow through on that kind of threat for very long. First of all, he loves the perception of adulation too much to stay away from the microphones and the cameras. He also has an incessant need to always make sure his voice is getting out there to the members of "Ford Nation." ::)

Second, he would lose whatever control he still has at City Hall. The moderates on council will bolt once and for all and join with the liberals to permanently take the agenda away from him. He'll be a mayor in name only. Which of course will lead to his declaration that the 2014 campaign has already begun - a campaign for which - ta-dah! - he'll need the media to promote himself.

Just thought I'd follow up on this for anyone who might be interested. He's been given the boot.

And Bruce Arthur's tweet has already been 'memed':

Doesn't everyone know this story pales in comparison to a JUCO coach not talking to a sports writer?
