Going to Toronto for the Jays/Sox series. Hoping somebody out there can recommend some good bars near the Rogers Centre.

    Thank you.

There's loads: Loose Moose and the Over Draught on Front, Irish Embassy at Yonge and Wellington, Bottom Line on Front just west of Yonge and there's a Hooters north of the 'Dome if you're into that shit.

There's probably a hundred bars within a five block radius.

Loose Moose is a good recommendation.

Further East is Scotland Yard (on The Esplanade, just south of the Irish Embassy)

Scotland Yard was absolutely packed every night I was there and there was a smaller place right next door that was great. I can't remember what it's called though. Drink lots of Steam Whistle!!! Damn, do I miss that beer.

Loose Moose and Irish Embassy get the 2006 SportsJournalists.com outing stamp of approval.

    I second that.
    Don't forget Tim's for coffee.
BTW, my little burg just got our own Tim's recently. We are so lucky.

It's been open for 2 weeks and I've been there 9 or 10 times.
Every cup of coffee I've had has been perfect, smooth and not a hint of bitterness.

They should make you the official US Tim's ambassador. :)

They're actually running a contest for the biggest Tim's fan in the area.

I pass a Tim's every day on my way to work. Thank god I go in at 4, so the draw of a hot chocolate and donut is not that strong. I went, I think, four of the five days of the week I was in training and working like 9-5.
