Toronto FC unveils its new soccer jersey.....Yuck.

And BMO (Bank of Montreal) gets its logo planted squarily on the front of the jersey.

That's really depressing. And the stadium is, of course, BMO Stadium.

I've been with the Bank of Montreal for 30 years but I just may change. Bastards.

I was expecting much, much worse.

The red and white is nice. That other color in there is not. I just wish they had gone a little different in the color scheme than red.

 

Don't they have a Bank of Toronto? You also have a personalized autograph from The Rocket. Hmm...

 

That what I've never understood soccer and some other sports (especially European leagues) -- why do the sponsors get preferential treatment over the team's logo?

 

It's the goddam logo right in the middle of the jersey that drives me crazy.

 

Worst are the European hockey leagues. Players look like NASCAR drivers.

 

At one point the front was either bare or had a number. When it was learned that you could earn some extra revenue by selling that space, teams did so.

It isn't preferential treatment. It is just in a location that nobody cares much about.

 

I think the NHL should use corporate logos on the jerseys. Seriously, it might help the bottom line.
