There has to be a thread somewhere... but I missed it. At least 47 dead. Union University in Jackson, Tenn. absolutely flattened.

    Thanks, F_B

    This deserves its own space.

    With a sober label.

Yeah, hindsight is 20-20 when it comes to labels, isn't it?

To be fair, when he started it it was just about a storm where he lived. And he was on his cell so he couldn't change the name of it. It could have been called "Man is it storming here" but that wouldn't have been any better in the long run.

I wasn't taking a shot at him.... this is going to end up an awful story, way up there in U.S. history by the time it's all sorted out. So, I thought it deserved its own thread with a straightforward title.

I'm not taking a shot either. The Katrina thread started with a light headline, too. Sometimes you just don't know how it's gonna end (in true sj fashion, often not well.) :-\

I thought that first thread was college hoops related...

At any rate ... the storm damage's bad.

Death toll rises to 47 and may rise further:

It's the deadliest storm since the 1999 outbreak that included the F5 that hit OKC.

Atkins, Ark. was not hit directly, thank goodness, or else the toll would've been fearsome. From what I've learned, 20 homes destroyed, all on the east side.

Have people started blaming the president yet?

The states hit the hardest were the ones that did not choose Romney in the GOP primary.

    Just sayin'.

Then West Virginia must be more nervous than Cleveland State.
