Been a very busy six months in the news business. What are your choices for the top stories of 2012 thus far. (Sports stories with a news angle are fair game for this list as well.)

    My top 10 are:

    1) United State Supreme Court upholds the Affordable Health Care Act.

    2) Mitt Romney wins (or likely to win) Republican nomination for president and will face Barack Obama in general election.

    3) Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky found guilty on multiple charges of sexual assault.

    4) Attorney General Eric Holder found in Contempt of Congress over the "Fast and Furious" program.

    5) Greece (and possibly other nations) close to leaving European Union over financial woes.

    6) Violence and political chaos in Egypt.

    7) US Supreme Court strikes down key parts of Arizona immigration enforcement law.

8 ) Whitney Houston dies unexpectedly.

    9) Wildfires destroy hundreds of homes in Colorado (as well as smaller fires in Montana and elsewhere).

    10) Queen Elizabeth's 60th Jubilee celebration.

I would not have Whitney Houston's death anywhere near the other stories mentioned here in terms of importance - - other than to her family.

I'd include Gaddafi and the "News of the World" kerfuffle before Whitney and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
