What are your top-five favorite TV comedies/sitcoms?

    Mine:

    1) Seinfeld - Incredible writing for much of the series, terrific cast chemistry.
    2) Frasier - Some episodes were perfection.
    3) I Love Lucy - Seminal.
    4) All in the Family - Simply rewrote the book.
    5) Golden Girls - Hilarious situation comedy, with a unique perspective.

  2. Tom Petty

    Tom Petty Guest

in no specific order: seinfeld, the simpsons, beavis and butt-head, MST3K (not a sitcom) and soap although the office could break through with a few more solid seasons.

Yeah, I know "The Office" is only 3 1/2 seasons old, but I think it belongs on that list, too. It was actually one of the first I thought of before even looking at the list, which is impressive.

I'd go (and these are just the ones that make/made me laugh out loud the most):
    1. Seinfeld
    2. The Office
    3. Golden Girls
    4. Everybody Loves Raymond
    5. Family Ties

What happen to the Norton and Kramden families who lived on 328 Chauncey Street?
    The Honeymooners

Roseanne, Golden Girls, gimme a break?

    In no order...

    1. Seinfeld
    2. The Office
    3. The Simpsons
    4. South Park
    5. 30 Rock

Hon. mention: Arrested Development, My Name is Earl

I have not watched enough of the 70s sitcoms to give them their proper credit, but that's my group.

    Well done, sir.

I'm pretty sure that's on par with exactly what I would say. Seinfeld, Office, Simpsons and 30 Rock are definitely there. Of those four, I don't think I've generally laughed out loud as much as I have for those shows. They're simply hilarious.

Ditto for Arrested Development, which didn't last long enough.

One of my votes would have gone to the Honeymooners had it been listed.

Seinfeld is the most over-rated TV sitcom or TV series period. Just didn't like the show.

Without Arrested Development this list is full of fail. Also, would the 3 Stooges be considered a sitcom, if so, they need to be on the list.

  12. friends, seinfeld, family guy, two and a half men, will and grace.
