    Best seasons? Sure.

    Biggest star: No way. Nobody had heard of him until his breakthrough season.

    Exactly and OK State had not yet moved into that upper echelon yet in terms of
    respect.

    As I mentioned a page back, the reason no one had heard of Barry Sanders until 1988 was Thurman Thomas.

    Sanders was a back-up running back and kick returner until Thomas was gone.

    By the way, the quarterback on those teams was Mike Gundy.

    I was in elementary school, but I remember Billy Sims being an all-time great college player and a huge star.

    Doug Flutie was the only player ever to get Boston to give a damn about college football. He was the city's biggest star, bigger than Larry Bird, when he was at BC. Should count for something.
